OUR STORY
KazaCare is a social impact venture born in response to three trends:
An Ageing Population
25% of the Mauritian population will be above the age of 60 in 10 years time. Care needs are becoming more complex, and continuous. With smaller families, and children living abroad, many families may not be able cope due to the lack of expertise and/or time. |
Care at Home and Ageing-in-Place
Most of us would prefer to reach the end of our lives in our own homes, and personalised home care has proven to be better for health and well-being, especially during a pandemic. There is also a shift in healthcare towards more prevention and community-based models. |
Layoffs and Unemployment
With the devastating economic impact of the pandemic, we see an opportunity to retrain people especially from the tourism and hospitality sectors for home assistance jobs, and to be meaningfully engaged in promoting the health and wellbeing in our communities. |
